DEFINITION
Flexible, Stretch ceiling made to measure in NewMat factory.
Brief outline of the manufacturing process;
The factory receives the plans of the ceiling required. The plans are scaled down by a certain percentage on our computer, this reduction is necessary so that the ceiling, after being heated and expanded can then become Stretch again. The ceiling is then cut out, according to the dimensions given on our calculator. It is then
assembled and bound together by means of a high-frequency soldering system. The suspension anchor is
soldered to the edge of the ceiling. The packing and dispatching are then checked. Depending on the work load,
a delay of dispatching the ceiling must not exceed 6 days.
The ceiling is made up of 3 parts:
- the suspension structure
- the securing bolt
- the sheeting
The securing bolt and the sheeting are intrinsically linked.
1) The suspension system (frame brackets)
This consists of a frame, made up of either "Class 0" PVC or aluminium, which is fixed to the walls at the desired height. Its function is to secure the sheeting and keep it taut.
2) The suspension anchor.
This consists of a semi-rigid, hook-shaped frame which is ATTACHED all around the perimeter of the sheet by high-frequency soldering. The ceiling is attached with a special tool for this purpose on the inside of the frame and then secured in place.
3) The sheeting.
These "satiny" synthetic strips do not exceed a thickness of 30/100. They are made in rolls 1.50m wide to 2.20m dependant upon the membrane specified, which means several strips are soldered together, depending on the shape and size of the ceiling by a high-frequency soldering technique.
The sheeting is tested for the following:
Mechanical resistance (the factory can also give a 10-year manufacturing guarantee for the
sheeting, without it affecting the 2-yearly building guarantee.
CHOICE OF FINISH
The flexible Stretch ceiling is available in 3 different finishes:
-Matt: White, resembling the natural look of plaster
-Shiny: can be compared to the well known Chinese lacquers
-Mock suede: resembles a high quality suede that has kept its sheen.
And various other finishes.
